                    A cycle of  four preludes came to existence as a graduate´s diploma work at the end of two - year

                    scholarship under professor Sidelnikov at Moscow Conservatory. The aim is to use expression

                    means and possibilities of the orchestral sound. Balance of static and dynamic passages, variety of colour

                    of different instrumental combinations, power of ostinata, etc., and that all in a frame of solid, intellectually

                    impressive composition. Preludes of different character are connected with attacca.
